Our Demi Pointe/Soft Block classes are a. perfect introduction to Pointe Work for students who are enrolled in Pre-Vocational or Intermediate Foundation classes. The class is designed to help students strengthen and develop their technique in this key area of classical ballet which will support their Vocational training.
Soft blocks look like pointe shoes however do not have a shank in them, so you can't actually go en pointe. They are designed to get young dancers used to the feel of pointe shoes and to help strengthen the feet in preparation for pointe work. Like any shoes there is no one "best" for all - what suits one won't suit another and they should be fitted like pointe shoes are.
