Jessica Jackson - Vice Principal
I attended Carol May’s Academy from the age of 2 studying Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Singing & Drama. I took part in regular dance competitions and many shows over the years. I gained exams up to Advanced level in all 3 dance genres, during this time I began helping out in classes which then lead onto teaching for Miss Carol in all genres. Alongside my dance classes at CMA, I studied A’ levels at Newman College. Gaining A’s in both A-level drama and A-level Dance. At 18, I gained a place at Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre in Liverpool, now Studio 10, to study on the dance performance and teaching course. However, my time here was cut short as I sadly developed an injury in both of my feet resulting in my dance career ending. Having not having a ‘plan B’ I started working in the office at Carol May’s and working in their small onsite shop. This then inspired me to set up my own business as I enjoyed the business side as well as being able to stay in the industry I have always loved. In 2012, I opened The Dancer’s Wardrobe Ltd selling dancewear and accessories to the whole dance community. At the same time I still work and teach at Carol May’s. Along with Miss Carol I also help with the general running of the CMA business. CMA has always been a huge part of my life and always will be. #CMAfamily. |
